is on a mission to simplify robotic-assisted surgery (RAS), so more patients and their surgeons can access its benefits every day.
Headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska, and holding over 200 patents and patent applications, the company is developing MIRA, the first-of-its-kind miniature, and highly accessible RAS platform. With MIRA, our goal is to make every operating room RAS-ready.
MIRA is currently in FDA clinical trials under an Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) and is being studied first for bowel resection, with additional potential applications to follow.
Virtual Incision was founded by Shane Farritor, PhD, MS, and Dmitry Oleynikov, MD, FACS, who combined their NASA engineering and minimally invasive surgery (MIS) experience to create MIRA, a small, sleek RAS platform that brings a whole lot to the table.
We are grounded in clinical excellence. We are problem solvers focused on patients and customers as our first priority.
We continuously make and improve. We have the curiosity, passion, and conviction to try new things—and look for ways to make them better.
We are authentic. We are transparent because it’s the right thing to do.
We win together. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, just our mission. We respect, trust, challenge and support each other with a common sense of purpose.
We own our destiny. We set ambitious goals, take accountability, and get things done.
